What is
"BIO SKD"
Computerized system of managing access to buildings and sites is designed
to monitor sites using biometric fingerprint identification by fingerprint
reader (scanner) and to control electrical locks with additional possibility
to manage any other devices and mechanisms, as well as to process the
signals from different sensors.
How It
Works
The basic version of the system is designed to open doors using biometric
fingerprint scanners that identify your fingerprint. In order for the
door to open, all you need to do is to place your left thumb on the scanner.
The whole operation takes no more than a second! And it is 100% reliable!
The system cannot be tricked because it remembers not only the fingerprint
itself, but also other biometric characteristics that are unique for different
people.
Advantages
After installing BIO SKD, you will no longer need to carry keys, access
cards, key chains and other objects that are easy to lose, give to someone
else, break, etc. The program does not work in one instance only - if
one of the fingers is severely damaged. Minor or frequent injuries (cuts)
are OK and do not interfere with the identification! All data and settings
are stored on the computer, access to which is only permitted by the biometric
method also, i.e. by placing the thumb on the scanner.
Where
it can be used
BIO SKD can be installed on any site, from a home to a large industrial
site. Previously such systems were only used on secret military bases.
Later they were used by large banks to access deposit safes of their clients.
Recently biometric identification technologies became much more popular,
and are now affordable to most companies or even an individual.

Upscaling/Downscaling
The system can be installed in a minimal version: 2 scanners and 2 locks/devices.
If necessary, the number of devices can be increased almost indefinitely.
It is possible to build a global network for managing remote sites with
one central control system that would collect and process statistical
data! The number of users can be anywhere from 1 to 10,000 and more. Integration
with surveillance cameras and the Internet via secure channels can be
easily achieved.
Prices
Because each site is different and the price depends on many parameters,
we can not state a certain price. We can only give an estimate based on
the number of scanners needed and the number of the potential users.

The price

The scanners are connected to the computer through the active USB extensions
and hubs that can be up to 5 meters long.

Extensions
allow the scanners to be away from the computer at the distance up to
26 meters, if 5 such extensions are connected in a row.
If
necessary, we install special extensions, 50 meters and longer, or in
some cases we can install an additional computer. It is possible to hook
up an existing computer and set up a network connection with the main
computer as well.
Special USB
extenders consist of two transmitters that are connected by CAT5 cables.
You can use an existing LAN network.
How computers
are placed is very important. If the maximum length of the extensions
is 50 meters, the computer needs to be placed in the middle, so that the
distance to the farthest door is 25 meters, which would allow you to avoid
additional expenses.
The controller
is connected to the computer.

The controller
is designed to operate locks and other devices. It provides ability to
connect various transmitters and to receive signals from other devices
in order to open all doors at once (for example, when a fire alarm is
set off).
For an extra cost, we can design so-called "Smart House" systems
based on our controllers.
In the basic
version of the system electro-mechanical locks from CISA are connected
to the controller.

The system uses proprietary software application developed by us to operate.
Installation
Depending
on the site, configuration and additional requirements of the customer,
installation may take from 2 to 14 days. In cases of major alterations
and unusual requirements, installation may take up to 2 months.
Installation
starts only after placing a deposit and reaching a complete agreement
about terms of installation.
The order
of installation works is coordinated with the customer.
After the installation our specialists conduct a preliminary informational
meeting on the site with the senior executives. During this meeting our
staff will give detailed overview of the system and information about
adding users, configuring access permissions, manual operation (in case
of emergencies). If necessary, we will explain how to process statistical
data.
In most cases, this application is used once or periodically to add new
users. It has a simple and easy-to-use interface.
The rest
of the software runs on its own and doesn't require constant supervision
by an operator or a user.
The main module is usually used to make necessary changes to the system
configuration:
Main Functions
of the Program Application:
- reviewing
the status of operations and fingerprints;
- entering new users;
- deleting users;
- searching and changing access privileges;
- changing scanner-to-locks connections;
- manual operation of the locks/devices;
- turning on/off sets of locks/devices;
- manual configuration, turning on/off the scanners;
- turning on/off automatic start and re-start options;
- turning on/off sound signals options;

Each
operation is logged in the database. Each fingerprint, including digressions
in the attempt to enter, is saved (graphically). This information is stored
in the database, including date and time when the record was made. This
means that you can look through and find information about any event any
time. If the video camera-module is installed, each camera shot
is also saved.
The statistics
processing application uses this data to generate different reports,
with ability to sort by day, month, etc.
You can also review the operational data and statistics reports ONLINE.
If a customer installs a remote system or additional computers, the data
from all of these sites and computers is sent to the server and is saved
in the global database.
The statistics module works with this database.
You can use any other connections, including Internet, employing secure
connections that provide confidentiality. The amount of traffic is very
small - not to exceed 24b per each operation or about 24 Kb per 1,000
operations, or 240 Kb per 10,000 operations. So even on large sites, external
Internet traffic will not exceed 1-2 Mb, which should be inexpensive.
Warranty period for the entire equipment is 12 months.
If the customer wants technical support after that, we can offer it for
any time range with a fixed monthly fee.
Since we
manufacturer this system, we can design and adapt to any site and to meet
any requirements a customer may have. Changes and adding new functions
is possible, as well as integration with other equipment and applications.
